Dosage and Administration

EQUIGEL™ with TAPE LONG ACTING HORSE WORMER AND BOTICIDE GEL is administered orally (into the mouth) at a dose rate of 0.4 mg/kg Moxidectin and 2.5 mg/kg Praziquantel. It is supplied in a ready to use syringe, calibrated according to the body weight of the horse to be treated. Use of this calibration will deliver the recommended dose.

When used as directed, EQUIGELTM with Tape is safe to use in foals over 4 weeks of age and in all breeding stock, including stallions and pregnant mares.

What size horse will EQUIGEL with Tape treat?

Each syringe will treat one x 700kg horse or 2 x 350kg ponies.

Does EQUIGEL with Tape treat encysted small strongyles?

EQUIGELTM with Tape treats roundworms, tapeworms and bots as well as encysted stages of small strongyles developing stage (DL), late encysted stage (LL3/EL4), and aids in control of early encysted stages (EL3) including inhibited larvae

How frequently do I need to worm my horse?

The unique long-term activity of EQUIGELTM with Tape against worms, including encysted small strongyles, is particularly useful in reducing the required dosing frequency in strategic parasite control programs. Retreatment intervals for the control of small strongyles can be extended to 14 to 16 weeks. Consult your veterinarian for advice on faecal egg count interpretation and the appropriate program for your specific needs.
