Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What active ingredient is in LARVASTOP?

LARVASTOPTM contains the active ingredient Cyromazine. Cyromazine is an insect growth regulator and is primarily used in poultry sheds where fly populations can be a significant issue in manure.

How does LARVASTOP work?

LARVASTOPTM is administered orally after being premixed into feed. After administration, the active is excreted unchanged. As Cyromazine is an Insect Growth Regulator, it does not kill adult flies, it affects the moulting process of fly larvae to stop development into adult flies. The elimination of adult flies is therefore gradual.

How long do I need to use LARVASTOP for?

Treatment with LARVASTOPTM should be commenced when fly activity is noticed. Continue for 4 to 6 weeks or until the fly population is under control. Repeat when flies re-establish themselves.

Can LARVASTOP be used as a standalone product?

It is recommended to use LARVASTOP™ as part of an integrated fly control program. Integrated fly control involves sanitary and management practices to compliment chemical control methods consisting of adulticides and larvicides.
